Looking for a Job

Option 1: On Campus Job Fair

Taking into consideration the need to hire student assistants, but also the challenging budget situation, the
Student Union in collaboration with the Career Center is providing faculty and staff with support in promoting department positions through a
modified “no frills” fair.

What: Meet informally with students to fill your on campus jobs (student assistant and work study positions) at the On Campus Job Fair. Additionally, post your positions on SpartaJobs (See below under Option 2). This free resource is available to faculty and departments throughout the year.

When: Tuesday, August 25, 2009; 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Where: 9th Street Plaza, in front of the Career Center

Option 2. SpartaJobs

If faculty or departments are unable to participate in the fair and/or have only one or two openings, we recommend posting  position(s) on SpartaJobs. Also consider indicating a designated time and place students can fill out applications in your job description(s) or collect resumes online via SpartaJobs.

Benefits of posting with the Career Center now?

Ø         It’s free, fast, and leads to fabulous hiring results for students and campus employers.

Ø          Did you know at that over half of our student body is registered with the Career Center
and we are often the first point of contact when students are looking for employment?

Ø        We will launch a campaign to promote registration and use of SpartaSystem in the coming weeks
and during Fall Welcome Weeks. Openings posted in the system will be especially
                    highlighted during this time.
